AutoFormat

Excel's AutoFormat feature offers a quick way to dress up tabular data in worksheets by applying predefined formats. If you're like me and like to leave design for designers, you'll welcome this feature.

To use AutoFormat

1.
Select the portion of the worksheet you want to format (Figure 77).

Choose Format > AutoFormat (Figure 8) to display the AutoFormat dialog box (Figure 78).

Choose a format from the Table format scrolling list. A preview of the format appears in the Sample area so you can decide whether you like it before you apply it.

4.
When you're satisfied with your selection, click OK or press Return or Enter. Your worksheet is formatted instantly (Figure 79).
