About navigation

Acrobat and Reader contain built-in navigational controls in the menu, command, tool, status, and scroll bars that let you browse a PDF document page by page, or quickly jump to a specific page of the document. Using these controls, you can view a PDF document in much the same way as you would view a printed book, while taking advantage of the greater speed and efficiency of electronic navigation.

In addition to these built-in controls, Acrobat lets you create custom navigational controls in your document. These controls include links, bookmarks, thumbnails, articles, and buttons. Bookmarks, thumbnails, and articles are discussed in Lesson 4, "Creating Navigational Structures," while buttons are discussed in Lesson 9, "Adding Buttons" .
