Inserting Titles

You can insert titles at the top of the chart or on any of the axes (Figure 4.17).

To insert titles on a chart:

1.
Choose Chart > Chart Options.

2.
Select the Titles tab (Figure 4.18).

Type the title text in the appropriate box.

4.
Click OK.

In Windows, the value axis title is automatically rotated 90 degrees (Figure 4.19). In Mac OS, you must choose a command to rotate the title.

To rotate an axis title:

1.
Select the axis title—make sure the placeholder has selection handles around it. (If you see the text cursor, click elsewhere on the chart and then again on the title.)

2.
Choose Format > Selected Axis Title.

3.
Select the Alignment tab (Figure 4.20).

4.
Type 90 in the Degrees field.

5.
Click OK.
