Formatting Tick Marks

Tick marks are tiny lines next to the labels on an axis, similar to divisions on a ruler. You can place tick marks inside, outside, or crossing the axis (Figures 5.32 and 5.33). You can also choose to have minor tick marks between the major tick marks (Figure 5.34).
