Inserting an Object Created in Any Application

Feel like inserting a new Illustrator graphic into your Writer document? If you have Illustrator, that is. For Illustrator or scores of other formats, just insert the object and create it in the native application. This section also covers how to insert an empty OpenOffice.org file.

Inserting an Existing Object Created in an External Program

1.
Choose Insert > Object > OLE Object.

2.
Keep the Create New item selected, then Further Objects at the bottom of the Object Type field.

3.
The Insert Object will appear. Select Create From File.

4.
A browse field will appear. Click Browse and select the file.

5.
Click OK.
