E-MAIL BLUNDERS ARE BECOMING ALL TOO COMMON

Very few organizations provide adequate training on how to use e-mail. As a result, users have had to make up their own rules regarding how to communicate. Astute users have taken cues from the people they communicate with regularly (their e-mmunities). Some users have even established their own written guidelines from feedback they get from the e-mmunities they belong to.

—Wurman, 2001
