Creating and Modifying Styles

Calc actually provides you with a couple of different routes to creating and modifying styles. Two of the most important tools involved in the creation and editing of styles are the Stylist and the Style Catalog. Each provides a venue for creating a style and then modifying it.

To Create a Style Based on a Selected Cell

Creating styles for your spreadsheets is very straightforward. The simplest way to quickly create a new style is to select a cell that has already been formatted. You must format at least a cell (or a range) with all the different font attributes, colors, borders, and other characteristics you would like to save in the style. Then you create the style based on that cell's (or cell range's) current formatting.
