Chapter 11. Working with Graphics and Objects > Formatting Graphics and Objects

Formatting Graphics and Objects

You will find that graphics and objects are, for the most part, very similar elements in Calc where formatting is concerned. You can move, resize, arrange, align, and anchor each element in pretty much the same manner. While we've already discussed moving and sizing some of the object types, a general overview of working with and manipulating objects follows.

To Move and Resize Elements

When you insert objects into a spreadsheet, Calc maintains the original size of the element. The easiest way to move and resize an element is by using the mouse. When you select an element, you activate sizing handles on all four sides and at all four corners. If you click and drag a sizing handle (when the mouse pointer changes to a double-headed arrow) at a corner, you can resize the element in two directions at the same time. In addition, moving an element is easy; you just click and drag it to a new location.
