Organizing with Explorer Groups

As already mentioned, the Explorer provides you with an excellent way to keep your files, even emails and Web bookmarks, organized and easily accessible. The Explorer uses groups that contain links to these specific items. By default, the Explorer offers these groups:

  • New Group— This group isn't really a group at all, but a button that allows you to create new groups (see the “Creating a New Group” section later in this chapter).

  • Click and Go— This group provides links to all the StarOffice document types found when you click File, then New. Other template types are also available and you can quickly create StarOffice documents by using the links in Click and Go.

  • Email & News— This group provides you quick access to your email accounts and newsgroups. You can set up email accounts and read the postings in the various newsgroups that you subscribe to. For more information on setting up email accounts and subscribing to newsgroups, see the StarOffice Help contents by clicking the Help menu and then selecting Contents.

  • Bookmarks— This group provides you with quick access to any bookmarks that you create when browsing the Web using the StarOffice Desktop as your Web browser. Bookmarks created using other Web browsers on your system are also ported over to StarOffice and made available when you access the Bookmarks group.
