Chapter 4. Enhancing Your Spreadsheets > Working with AutoCorrect

Working with AutoCorrect

AutoCorrect actually corrects certain errors (such as always placing a capital letter at the beginning of the first word in a sentence) and automatically changes certain entries. For example, if you type (c), it will replace this entry with the copyright symbol (©). AutoCorrect also handles other corrections such as recognizing Web addresses and email addresses (it will insert them in the cells as hyperlinks).

The biggest issue related to AutoCorrect when you are working in Calc is how much “autocorrecting” you actually want AutoCorrect to be doing as you are entering data into your spreadsheet cells.
