Style Libraries

Illustrator installs, by default, several libraries of styles. One appears in the Styles palette; the others are available to load from the Adobe Illustrator folder on the hard drive. The default library for the document’s color mode is automatically loaded when the file is opened (unless the document has been saved with changes made to the Styles palette).

The Styles palette menu offers the command Select All Unused. Selecting and then deleting styles that aren’t used in a document slims the document a little, and it streamlines the Styles palette. This is especially useful when a document contains numerous custom styles.
