Color on the Web

Web graphics are designed and intended to be viewed via Internet on a computer monitor. For that reason, software used to view Web pages, known as Web graphics, works primarily with RGB images. The RGB color gamut can be sub-setted, depending upon file format and monitor color depth.

The use of color in Illustrator is covered in Chapter 12, “Understanding and Applying Color,” and Web-specific issues are handled in depth in Chapter 22, “Saving Images for the Web.”
