One Color Mode per Illustration

I dragged an object from a CMYK document to an RGB document. The Color palette shows CMYK values. Is it still CMYK?

No, it's an RGB object. Illustrator 9, unlike earlier versions of the program, allows only one color mode per document. To check, open the Info palette and click the object. You'll see its true color mode and color values. When you transfer an object from a document of one color mode to a document of the other color mode, it is automatically converted.
