A Special Case: The Toolbox

The most commonly used palette in Illustrator is, without a doubt, the Toolbox. Although it is a palette, it differs from the others in Illustrator in a number of ways. First, it holds the same contents every time you open Illustrator. In addition, because it is not a tabbed palette, it cannot be docked or grouped with other palettes.

The tools themselves are described individually in Appendix C.In addition to the tools, however, the Toolbox contains several buttons, as shown in Figure D.4.
