Part: X Appendixes > The Effect Menu

The Effect Menu

Effects are discussed in Chapter 21. In an over-simplification, effects are filters that are not permanently applied. When a filter is applied, the image is altered. When an effect is applied, the filter is simulated. With object effects, the object itself remains editable and the effect is updated to reflect any changes.

The Effect menu is divided into three sections. The top portion contains the commands that reapply the last-used effect. The other two sections include those effects. The upper portion contains effects that can be applied to vector images, whereas the lower has raster effects.
