Troubleshooting

Appearances and styles are among the most powerful tools in Illustrator. They allow you to change the look of objects without actually changing the objects themselves. You can later edit the original object and have all the appearances update themselves automatically. Whether you need to change the size, shape, color, or effects applied to an object, the other characteristics will conform to the new look. They can be applied to objects, groups, or layers.
