Editing Paths and Shapes

Editing a path's Bézier curves by working directly with its anchor points and direction lines is one way to change its shape. Fortunately, Illustrator offers dozens of timesaving ways to perform specific operations on paths and shapes. Using Path commands, you can clean up the paths you've created, and using the Pathfinder palette and the corresponding effects, you can combine simple shapes in complex ways.
