Final Thoughts

For a project like this I would normally recommend adding crop and registration marks, but each DVD replication service has its own template to use. In it, they have created crop, registration, and other marks that conform to their workflow's requirements. And, if you're printing labels on an inkjet or laser printer, you have no use for registration marks.

Included in the Extras folder of this chapter's downloadable resource files are several TIF images of standard CD and DVD logos I found around the Web. It's always a good idea, prior to using any logo, to check with the company or standards body issuing the logo and governing the CD or DVD technology in your project. Your DVD replication service will know who to talk to and how to go about it and, most often, they will offer to place the appropriate logo into your artwork for you.
