Lesson 1. FreeHand Basics > Using the Knife Tool

Using the Knife Tool

A path is a continuous line consisting of two or more points. For example, the line you drew with the Line tool is a path with two points: one at each end. A path can be either open or closed. The line you drew is an open path; an object where the first and last points are the same point is a closed path.

Note

Points and paths are important concepts to grasp when using FreeHand. You will learn more about them in later lessons. In this section, you get just a brief introduction to them. Stick around. It gets better!
