Animating Text

You can animate text so it appears one letter at a time. The process for animating text is similar to the process you just completed to animate the circles. You first need to convert your text to paths. In this task, you will add some text to a new layer, convert the text to paths, and then release the text to layers. In the resulting animation, the circle will move around the path of the rectangle and then the text will appear one letter at a time.

1.
Create a new layer.

The text you add to this new layer will appear at the end of the current animation.

2.
Type ACTION PHOTOS and place this text in the middle of the page. Format the text in a big, bold font.

The new layer you added should still be selected. When you add this text, it will be on the new layer.

3.
Choose Text > Convert to Paths.

The text is converted to a graphic element.

4.
Choose Xtras > Animate > Release to Layers. From the Animate pop-up menu, select Build and click OK. Test your movie.

The circles move around the rectangle. When the circles have completed their circuit, the text appears one letter at a time. Because you added only the text on the new layer, after the circles, the circles surrounding the area do not appear when the text animates.

5.
Save your file.
