Lesson 9. Creating Animations and Movies > Reversing the Animation

Reversing the Animation

To reverse the animation, you will use the copy of the blend you placed on the Reverse layer. You will repeat the Release to Layers command, but this time selecting the option to reverse the direction of the animation.

1.
Hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) and click the Reverse layer.

The blend on the layer is selected. You can check the Object panel to verify that only one object (the blend) is selected.

2.
Choose Xtras > Animate > Release to Layers. Choose Sequence from the Animate pop-up menu, select Reverse Direction, and deselect Use Existing Layers. Click OK.

You should now have 54 animation layers.

3.
Press Ctrl+Enter (Windows) or Command+Return (Macintosh) to test your movie.

The aperture should appear to open and then to close.

When you are satisfied with your movie, you can export it and save it as a SWF file. You’ll do that next. Leave the playback window open for the next task.
