Using Transparency

Once you understand the principles of transparency, there are many different ways you can use objects with opacity and blending modes applied. Although I can only scratch the surface, here are some ideas to help spark your imagination.

In Multi-Fills

When you create a multi-fill for an object, you can also apply an opacity or a blending mode. Position the multi-fill on top of the second fill so that the transparency feature can be seen. You should also apply some transformation or distortion so that you can see the differences between the two fills. Figure 18.15 shows how the top fill of an object can be set to multiply with the bottom fill.
