Manually Customizing a Graph

If you've been reading this chapter sequentially, your brain is undoubtedly a little numb by now. Either that, or you've been reading the book in bed in lieu of a sedative. Let's face it, taking in Illustrator's half-million graphing options is a daunting—not to mention boring—task.

That's why it may come as a welcome shock that one tool—the direct selection tool—is more capable than every option in all the Graph Type dialog boxes combined. Armed with the direct selector, you can move elements around, apply different colors, edit the size of text and legend swatches, and just plain customize the heck out of your graph.
