Chapter 7. Modifying and Combining Paths > One Million Ways to Replicate

One Million Ways to Replicate

Adobe understands the benefits of duplicating paths, which is why it has blessed Illustrator with so many techniques for cloning and copying. Each of these is useful in different situations. If you aren't already familiar with these techniques, study these sections carefully and commit the techniques to memory. Those poor souls who don't understand duplication miss out on one of the key factors that gives Illustrator the edge over the common household pencil.

If you think you know pretty much everything about duplication already, at least skim the next few sections. I'm confident you'll pick up a handful of techniques that you never heard of, had forgotten, or hadn't considered in quite this context. I'm equally confident you'll find a way to put these new techniques to work in the very near future.
