Working with Web Authoring Programs

Chapters 21 and 22 go into great detail about converting Illustrator artwork into Web file formats. Here I'll talk a little more about the other end—using Illustrator files in Web authoring. The lists of file formats earlier in this chapter include standard Web formats, including GIF and SWF (Shockwave Flash).

For basic site design, it's simple. Just export to one of the Web file formats as discussed in Chapters 21 and 22, trying to keep quality up and file size down, and use them in Web authoring programs such as Macromedia Dreamweaver or Microsoft FrontPage.
