Measuring and Positioning with Microscopic Precision

One of my favorite things about using Illustrator is that you can measure dimensions and distances right inside the program. There's no need to print the illustration and measure the output—or even press a pica pole against the screen. Fortunately, Illustrator's built-in capabilities are both more convenient and more accurate than either of those methods. Where else can you click the screen to measure discrepancies as slight as 0.0001 point, roughly the length of bacteria razor stubble?

Illustrator provides three sets of measuring and positioning devices:
