Lines, Arcs, Spirals, and Grids

If you've been using Illustrator in previous incarnations, you'll have found ways of drawing whatever shapes you need (and it's amazing how many shapes you find you actually do need). Illustrator 10 has added a few new utensils that many users will appreciate for their ease of use—the line segment tool, the arc tool, the rectangular grid tool, and the polar grid tool. Now these join company with the spiral tool (as shown in Figure 5.15) to help you make short work of many of your drawing tasks.
