Trading Artwork with Photoshop

Illustrator and Photoshop have been able to trade paths and pixels back and forth for a few years now. You can copy and paste, drag and drop, export, or just open. The results vary depending on which direction you drag—from Illustrator into Photoshop or vice versa—and what kind of objects you have selected. The following sections tell all.

Drag (or Copy/Paste) Objects into Photoshop

You can drag objects from Illustrator into Photoshop. Because Photoshop does not quite have the sophisticated drawing capabilities of Illustrator, you may find it easier to work in Illustrator and then drag objects into Photoshop. But you should keep the following in mind.
