Adding Text to a Document

The following sections explain how to add artistic and paragraph text to a document, convert from one text type to the other, and edit the text.

To add artistic text to a document:

1.
Select the Text Tool (Figure 11.1) or press .

The pointer changes to a cross-hair with a tiny “A” attached to it.

2.
Click where you want the artistic text to start.

A vertical line called the insertion marker appears where you click.

3.
Type the text.

4.
When you are finished typing or pause while typing, handles appear around the text object, showing that it is selected (Figure 11.2).
