Saving Drawings

Until you've saved a newly-created drawing, it only exists in the computer's memory. The same is true of edited documents. If you want edits to be permanent, you must save them.

To save a new drawing:

1.
Choose File > Save or File > Save As, press , or click the Save toolbar icon.

The Save Drawing dialog box appears (Figure 2.10).

2.
Navigate to the folder in which you want to save the drawing.

3.
Enter a name for the drawing in the File name text box.

4.
Optional: The default file type is CorelDraw (denoted by the cdr extension). To save the drawing in another file format, choose a format from the Files of type list.

5.
Optional: To later help identify the drawing, you can enter keywords and notes.

6.
Optional: To change file compression settings, click the Advanced button.

The Options dialog box appears, open to the Save section (Figure 2.11). Make any necessary changes and click OK.
