Chapter 7. Lines and Curves > Using the Bézier Tool

Using the Bézier Tool

You can use the Bézier Tool to precisely draw smooth curves, node-by-node. As each node is created, you can control the curvature of the line by manipulating the node's control points.

To draw a straight line:

1.
Select the Bézier Tool from the Curve flyout (Figure 7.5).

Figure 7.5. Select the Bézier Tool from the Curve flyout.

The pointer changes to a cross-hair with a tiny curve connected to it.

2.
Click to position the first node.

3.
Click to place the next node.

A straight line segment appears between the two nodes (Figure 7.6).

Figure 7.6. Click once to place the first node and a second time to place the next node.

4.
To draw additional connected straight lines, repeat Step 3.

5.
When you are done drawing, press or select another tool.
