Using the Symbols palette

Any object that you can create in Illustrator can be stored on the Symbols palette for potential reuse in any document. To place one symbol onto the artboard, all you have to do is drag it out of the Symbols palette. A placed symbol is called an instance to distinguish it from the original symbol.
