Chapter 8. Reshape > Quick reshaping

Quick reshaping

The Erase tool deletes points, too—but you don't have to click on them individually.

To erase part of a path using the Erase tool:

1.
Choose the Erase tool. It's on the Pencil tool pop-out menu.

2.
Cmd-click/Ctrl-click an object (not a gradient mesh or a text path).

3.
Position the eraser (black) part of the pencil pointer directly over the area from which you want to remove points, then drag once across that area . If you erase points from a closed path, you'll end up with an open path. If you erase points from an open path (not endpoints), you'll end up with two separate paths.
