Lesson 12. Drawing Cylinders and Boxes > Drawing three-dimensional objects

Drawing three-dimensional objects

In this part of the lesson, you'll use two-dimensional shapes as the basis for creating more complex, three-dimensional objects.

Illustrator has several tools that are helpful in creating complex shapes, including Smart Guides and the Pathfinder palette. Smart Guides help you select and snap to points to create, edit, move, align, and transform objects by creating temporary guides that indicate paths, anchor and path points, and angles. Pathfinder commands combine, isolate, and subdivide shapes as part of creating complex objects.
