Lesson 15. Creating a Web Publication > Slicing artwork for Web pages

Slicing artwork for Web pages

You'll create slices in the Web design to define its different Web elements. Slicing a design into small pieces lets you designate areas in an image as different file formats for different Web elements (such as GIF for a logo and JPEG for a gradient), to make the Web page load more quickly and to assign special behaviors, such as links to sections of a page.
