Chapter 20. TEXT EFFECTS > Special Text Effects

Special Text Effects

Perhaps some of the greatest unknown features in FreeHand are the special text effects. Quite frankly I’ve never seen any graphics or page layout program offer anything like these effects.

To apply any of the special text effects:

1.
Select the text.

2.
Choose the Character options of the Text inspector.

3.
Choose one of the special effects from the pop-up menu 9.

Figure 9. Use the Effects pop-up menu of the Text inspector to apply the special text effects.

  • Highlight creates a color or tint block around the text 10.

  • Strikethrough draws a line that runs across the text 11.

  • Underline runs a line underneath the text 12.

  • Inline creates a number of outlines around the text 13.

  • Shadow adds a drop shadow image behind the text 14.

  • Zoom adds a 3D perspective effect 15.
