Chapter 31. ADVANCED PRINTING > Setting the Imaging Options

Setting the Imaging Options

When you print a file, the print shop that will be printing the job may ask you to add certain labels and marks around your artwork. Rather than create these marks manually, FreeHand can automatically add them.

To add labels and marks:

1.
In the Print Setup dialog box, click the tab for Imaging. The Labels & Marks options appear on the right side of the dialog box 3.

Figure 3. Click the boxes for each of the Labels & Marks to have those marks printed around the artwork.

2.
Click Separation names to add a label with the name of the color plate that is printed.

3.
Click File name and date to add the name of the file, page number, and date and time that the file is printed.

4.
Click Crop marks to add the marks that indicate the trim size of the artwork.

5.
Click Registration marks to add registration marks and color bars that are necessary for printing multiple colors.

TIP

The labels and marks appear in the Print Setup preview only if the page size for the FreeHand document is smaller than the paper size selected in the print setup 4.
