Lesson 2. Shading and Blending > Shading and blending in Illustrator

Shading and blending in Illustrator

You will complete the second part of the lesson in Illustrator. You may want to reread the introduction, “Choosing Illustrator versus Photoshop” on page 40, for a comparison of the shading and blending strengths of Illustrator versus Photoshop. If you have not already restored the default Illustrator settings, do so now. For instructions, see “Restoring default preferences” on page 4.

1.
Restart Illustrator.

2.
Choose File > Open, and open the 02End.ai file, located in the Lessons/Lesson02/02AI folder.

3.
When you have finished viewing the file, close the End file without saving changes.

Because Illustrator files containing lots of gradients and gradient mesh objects can be memory intensive, for best results, close the file as you work through the lesson.
