Lesson 7. Advanced Typography and Layout > Printing tiled sections

Printing tiled sections

When your artwork is larger than what your printer can handle, you can print your artwork in sections, letting you proof the entire piece. The construction brochure you are working on has an artboard size of 19 inches by 17 inches—a size that even a tabloid printer couldn’t handle.

Print tiles let you print the entire brochure on several sheets, so that you can paste them together to proof the entire piece at once or show the complete piece to your client. Printing tiles manually lets you control exactly how each tile is positioned, and ensures that copy or artwork does not get cut off at the edge of a tiled sheet.
