Linking objects in an image map to URLs

Any object you create in Adobe Illustrator can be linked to a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) address, transforming the object into a button that links to an Internet Web site. This feature is useful when designing image maps for Web pages, letting you preattach links to individual objects in an illustration before importing the artwork into a Web-page design application.

You'll open a file containing artwork for an image map with three buttons, add URL links to the buttons using the Attributes palette, and then save the file in GIF format.
