Lesson 15. Preparing Graphics for Web Pu... > Exporting flat-color artwork

Exporting flat-color artwork

Flat-color artwork with repetitive color and sharp detail, such as line art, logos, or illustrations with type, should be exported to GIF or PNG-8 format. Flat-color artwork appears best on the Web without any dithering—mixing colors to approximate those not present in the palette. To prevent computers from dithering colors, use Web-safe colors in your artwork. Then export the artwork to GIF using the Save for Web feature.

Painting with Web-safe colors

You'll start by painting the flat-color Swing Classes logo with Web-safe colors and then save it in GIF format.
