Chapter 1. The Basics > Getting Help

Getting Help

CorelDraw 9 comes with a comprehensive help system that has been developed with users' requests in mind. There are seven parts in the help system:

  • The User's Guide— this is the paper manual that ships with CorelDraw. You can read it at your leisure, even away from your computer.

  • Online Help— built in the standard Windows style, Online Help has three tab pages, set up like a book with Contents, Index, and Find (Figure 29).

  • Technical Support— if you are having any problems getting CorelDraw to work, check here.

  • Hints— this helper displays information about the task that you are performing. When you click a tool or object, the Hints window changes to show you information pertaining to the selected item (Figure 30)

  • CorelTutor— the Tutor gives you step-by-step instruction on how to complete specific tasks (Figure 31). You can even get the Tutor to demonstrate how to do something.

  • What's This?— this helper gives you an on-demand description of the tools you are using (Figure 32).

  • ToolTips— these are the balloons that appear when the mouse passes over a button or drop-down list on a toolbar (Figure 33).
