Chapter 3. Connecting to the Internet > Transferring an Existing Internet Accou...

Transferring an Existing Internet Account

If you already have an account with an ISP, you should use the Network Connection Wizard to transfer that account to your Windows XP computer and use the account to establish the connection. This is especially important if you plan to share an Internet connection over your home network, because it allows you to take advantage of the advanced Internet Connection Sharing features included with Windows XP.

Tip

If you signed up with a local ISP, follow the steps in this section to manually set up the account on your computer. If you want to set up a broadband connection instead, follow the instructions in the next section, “Setting Up a Broadband Connection.”
