Using Windows Messenger to Transfer a File

With Windows Messenger, you can do more than have instant text, voice, and video conversations—you can also transfer files. You can use this feature while you’re online to instantly exchange music, pictures, or any other files with others. Sending files through Windows Messenger gets the file to the receiver immediately, as opposed to e-mail, which could take some time.

In this exercise, you and your spouse are working on separate Windows XP computers in different rooms in your house. You’ll now create a new Notepad document and use Windows Messenger to send a copy of the file to your spouse. Complete the following steps:
