Appendix B: Country Codes and International Access Numbers

Appendix B. Country Codes and International Access Numbers

To make a phone call to another country, you'll need to dial some additional numbers before you can dial the local number that you want to reach.

The first number is the international access number for the country that you're placing the call from. This number is essential because otherwise, your call will not be recognized as an overseas phone number. Many countries that share a geographic region use the same international access number—some of the most common are 00 and 011.
