Change Settings Manually

We've mentioned that Windows XP comes with a handy Home Networking Wizard, which can help you set up all the computers on your network. If you'd prefer to use the Wizard, rather than adjusting your settings manually, go ahead and jump ahead to the “Using the Network Setup Wizard” section later in this chapter. Keep in mind, though, that it's not difficult to set up your computers on your own.

First, you want to make sure your computer has a name and description.
