While such systems are not very common today, their use is increasing.

A multimedia PC entertainment system provides the foundation for future home computing applications including Web surfing, e-mail, VCR functions, DVD viewing, Web camera snapshot/video captures, home security monitoring, and digital photography support. Depending upon personal interests, the list may go on and on.
