Part: III iMovie > Working with Video Clips

Chapter 12. Working with Video Clips

IN THIS CHAPTER:

95 About the Monitor

96 Name a Clip

97 Split a Clip

98 Crop a Clip

99 Set the Direction of a Clip

100 Create a Freeze Frame Image

Every movie you create in iMovie is composed of one or more video clips or photos that you customize within iMovie. You customize video clips by removing unwanted footage, modifying play speed, adding effects, or even changing the play direction of the clip by reversing it. In iMovie, your clips can appear in three locations: the Clips pane, the Photos pane, and the Monitor. You view and modify clips using the Monitor. The Clips pane houses all the video clips available for your movie. Any modifications made to the clips in the Monitor are updated in the Clips pane. For example, if you split a clip, the Clips pane is updated to contain both of the smaller clips. The Photos pane shows your iPhoto library. You can add any of the photos on the pane to your movie. See 105 Add Photos from iPhoto for more information on using the Photos pane.
