Lesson 6. Building a Dynamic Slide Show > Customizing Your Slide Show

Customizing Your Slide Show

In Lesson 5, Christopher created a slide show at his daughter's party in just a few minutes. It's the most traditional kind of slide show, the kind that families have enjoyed for generations, huddled around a projector, maybe with a carousel of slides and a screen Dad pulled out of the closet.

In a conventional, manual slide show, the person holding the clicker decides when to take you to the next slide—effectively deciding on the duration of each slide. By contrast, a quick iPhoto slide show automatically moves you through slides, held rigid on the screen like photographs, each for a preset amount of time. For you traditionalists, there are tools you can use to take the car out of automatic, and get hold of the stick shift, so to speak. In this lesson, we'll explore how to do that with iPhoto.
