Chapter 8. Liquid Len Meets DiscoHead: > Driving the Liquid - Pg. 264

Nano Project 8 < Nano-Project > Power-Bar Friendly Wall-Warts S eems like every week there's a new and exciting take on "the AC adaptor-friendly power strip." This is an issue that has been annoying tech-heads for years; I personally threw my first 9V transformer across the room in frustration in 1980. I have neither the time nor the money to indulge in exten- sive market research on every new solution that comes down the pipe. When I wanna plug stuff in, I wanna plug stuff in now, dammit. So I thought about it a bit, and came up with this fairly obvious hack to perform on the 'warts themselves. Stop me if you've heard this one. For each adaptor you're going to modify, you need a length of regulation-issue AC cord (male to bare ends: length is your call, but make it at least 18 inches), about 5 inches of 3 / 8 " shrink tub- ing, the will to void the warranty, and a soldering iron.
